We are delighted that the Moy Park team has been recognised with three awards at the Northern Ireland Food and Drink (NIFDA) Awards.
Congratulations to Ursula Lavery, Technical and R&D Director Europe, on winning the Outstanding Food & Drink Industry Leadership Award for coordinating the Northern Ireland industry response to the pandemic. When lockdown first started, there were no operational guidelines from government as to how the industry could protect our team members and continue to feed the nation. Ursula showed outstanding leadership, and stepped up to the challenge of coordinating industry leaders, and producing sensible, practical guidelines for food and drink manufacturers.
The Safefood Food Safety Champion Award went to Dr Gary McMahon, Company Microbiologist. This award recognises individuals whose personal initiative have made a positive contribution to the development of improved Food Safety features into food production, in-house training and other key challenges.
The Food and Drink Sector Skills, Best Company Training Programme Award recognised our Culinary Academy. This award is for taking up the challenge of providing new and better skills through training. The Culinary Academy is now in its fourth year of operation and it is wonderful to get the recognition for something we have created and own totally in house with our Culinary and L&D team.
