Stars Award Winner
We were celebrating the first annual prizegiving of our Stars Awards at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, in the company of our quarterly award winners.
Muhammed Maliki, Head of Quality Assurance – Agriculture, was the overall winner and received his trophy from Chris Kirke, CEO.
At the gala awards ceremony we met team members who travelled from France, Holland, across England and Northern Ireland and enjoyed hearing their individual stories about what the quarterly Values award meant to them and what the Values mean to our culture. Thank you to Ellen Wright, Andy Sharman, Muhammed Maliki, Chloe Roberts, Katie Clague and Norman Edgar who shared their personal stories.
Muhammed Maliki was this year’s Superstar Award winner, an outstanding example of how to live our Values. Muhammed’s nomination comments on how he is “prepared to go well beyond what anyone or any business can expect” and mention his personal characteristics of “boundless energy, encouragement, care for the livestock and most importantly the people around him”.
It is amazing to see how many people across our business have been nominated by their team members for showing exceptional examples of our Values:

• 2,056 monthly winners
• 67 quarterly winners in 2021
Our company wide recognition scheme – Stars – has been generating nominations across our business sites and functions to highlight how our team members are living our Values. Any team member showing outstanding examples of living our Values will be put forward for consideration for a monthly award, and then have the chance to progress to the quarterly recognition, and the annual Superstar Award status.
Congratulations to all our Stars across the business who made the nominations, to the people who were nominated for the monthly and quarterly Stars Awards, and thank you to everyone who lives our Values – which is where it all starts – You Make The Difference.
