Orla’s ‘Fabulous Fowl’ flies into first place

Orla Dunleavey, from Ballinrobe, County Mayo was crowned the winner of the Moy Park sponsored ‘Fabulous Fowl’ category at the recent Easy Food Home-Cook Hero Awards, sponsored by Kenwood. Orla’s oriental inspired dish ‘Chinese Kung Pao Chicken’ beat off stiff competition from fellow finalists Karen Coakley from Kenmare, Co Kerry and Cathy Coley from Broadford, Limerick. Paul Burch, Director of Sales, Moy Park commented, “As Ireland’s number one chicken brand, we were delighted to be involved as sponsors for the ‘Fabulous Fowl’ category for the third year running. We were very impressed with the high standard of this year’s entries, which demonstrate first-hand the versatility of chicken as an ingredient for a main meal. Congratulations to everyone who took part!” The judges, celebrity chefs Catherine Fulvio and Paul Flynn and Managing Director of Easy Food magazine Gina Miltiadou were impressed with Orla’s exotic dish and use of flavours to complement the chicken. Orla received €1,500 worth of prizes including a weekend break, kitchen appliances, restaurant vouchers, and a hamper of utensils, kitchenware and foodie goodies.
