The team has had another national success, being recognised with an industry award. At a glittering ceremony for the prestigious National Egg & Poultry Awards, the team won the Processor of the Year.
The National Egg & Poultry Awards are backed by the British Poultry Council (BPC), the British Egg Industry Council (BEIC) and the National Farmers Union (NFU) to honour and reflect achievement, excellence and best practice in the sector, while promoting the industry and providing networking opportunities for sector members.
Alan Huston, Head of Agri Business, Breeder Services & Hatcheries, received the award on behalf of the business, saying “While this Processor of the Year award is for our four outstanding primary poultry facilities who process 5 million birds per week, they cannot achieve these standards alone. They have the full support of the business to help them perform every day, particularly our agricultural infrastructure of 700 supplying farms, our mills and hatcheries. We emphasised to the award judges about our approach to health and safety, operational excellence, the quality of animal welfare and production efficiency within our supply chain, and the ever increasing importance of sustainability. I want to thank and congratulate our team, the success recognised by this award is an achievement which we can all be proud of.”
