Moy Park has been recognised by the Food and Drink Federation for its community support efforts over the past year.
Moy Park’s Culinary Team were announced winners of the ‘Hidden Heroes’ award for their ‘Meals on Wheels’ service, which saw them deliver 7,600 meals to those most vulnerable in the community during the Covid-19 pandemic. Companies from across the supply chain came together virtually for the Food and Drink Federation Awards to celebrate the efforts and achievements of the industry in 2020.
Last year Moy Park turned its new product development kitchen in Craigavon into a production line, in order to create healthy, nutritious meals to be distributed by The Resource Centre Derry. Local companies who donated produce and packaging for the meals included Kerry Foods Portadown, Wilson's Country, The Flavour Works, Irwin’s Bakery, Daily Fresh and JMC Packaging Ltd.
Aaron Dixon, Moy Park Head of Culinary said, “I can’t describe how proud I am of this team. We are humbled to have won an award when we were simply eager to help in any way, during what has been a difficult time for so many. They are Food Heroes, feeding the nation, and a great team to be proud of.”
Ian Wright CBE, Chief Executive, Food and Drink Federation added, “This Award recognises the exceptional individuals at Moy Park who have demonstrated admirable dedication throughout the pandemic and beyond. Every single person has been nominated by those closest to them at work - their colleagues, teams and companies. We are extremely proud of their achievements and congratulate them as we mark their remarkable efforts.”
