Moy Park partnering with CAFRE and NTU on Food Safety & Quality Apprenticeship programme

Moy Park has partnered with leading educational institutions in Northern Ireland and Great Britain to deliver our latest Technical Apprenticeship programme. The Food Safety & Quality Apprenticeship roles offer the opportunity of hands-on training and specialised for support for individuals seeking to start their career in the food sector. We caught up with our NI and GB training partners to discuss the benefits of the programme.

In Northern Ireland we are collaborating with the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE). Widely respected across the agri-food sector CAFRE specialises in a wide range of education programmes including Apprenticeships and Higher-Level Degree Level Apprenticeships awarded by the University of Ulster.

Building on its long-standing relationship with Moy Park, CAFRE will work with the team to bring guidance and key support for its food safety and quality apprentices.

Nicola Kerr, Course Director for Further Education and Apprenticeship Programmes at CAFRE said,

“The apprentice programme will provide students with the technical, management and leadership skills required in a modern food manufacturing environment and has been designed to meet the growing needs of the food industry including in production management, technical management, quality assurance and product development.”

Moy Park is also partnering with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), recognised as one of the UK’s most outstanding universities, committed to excellence in teaching and research and student experience. Moy Park has worked with NTU for many years, and benefits from the university’s expertise in helping apprentices develop the skills and knowledge they need to grow or kickstart their career.

Andy King, Degree Apprenticeship manager at NTU offered his advice to those considering applying for an apprenticeship,

Apprenticeships are a great way to earn an in-demand qualification offering you the opportunity for flexible learning alongside your job. We provide the perfect blend of theory and practical experience for our apprentices. The range of new technical roles available are a great opportunity to give people a hands-on understanding of the Food Safety and Quality sector.”
