PILGRIMS & MOY PARK ARE THE FIRST GLOBAL MEAT & POULTRY COMPANIES TO SET A NET-ZERO GHG EMISSIONS TARGET BY 2040

At Moy Park we are committed to meeting the nutritional needs of our customers in a sustainable manner.

We are leveraging our scale and influence to help agriculture be part of the climate solution by lowering our emissions and supporting producers and suppliers to continue improving their environmental footprint and preserving natural resources.

Environment

  • Achieve Net Zero GHG emissions by 2040.
  • Invest in emissions reduction projects in Moy Park owned facilities.
  • Invest in research and development projects to assist producer efforts to strengthen and scale regenerative farming practices.
  • Eliminate deforestation from our supply chain by 2025.

Summary

We will provide leadership by our actions - going beyond our NZ0 2040 commitment, to have a net positive impact on our environment and our ecosystems.

We will be led by science and will partner and support Research and Development that will help bridge the remaining gap between ambition and execution.

We will transparently report on our efforts, and with support from the Carbon Trust, we are working with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to reduce our emissions in line with climate science.

We have adopted several strategies to achieve emission reductions:

  • A Global commitment to invest $1 billion in incremental capital expenditures over the next decade for emission reduction projects
  • $100 million by 2030 in research and development projects to assist producer efforts to strengthen and scale regenerative farming practices.

Our Approach

Pilgrim's Pride Corporation, Moy Park's parent company, has released its 2020 Sustainability Report containing numerous examples from Moy Park, including an ambitious net-zero target that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our value chains by 2040.
