One group to benefit from the Moy Park Community Support Fund in Northern Ireland is the Bannside Community Group in Portadown.
The cross-Community Group has been established for over 25 years and represents the immediate area in housing, social and education needs. They provide a number of workshops to equip participants with skills such as Arts, Crafts and IT, as well as health and wellbeing events, and a drop-in centre twice a week.
The £5,000 grant from Moy Park will be used to provide crafts and computer courses for those who have been shielding due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a result of the Coronavirus, many organisations like ourselves are now in an extremely precarious position, often having to deliver additional services with fewer volunteers and staff members, while having to cancel fundraising activities. This generous grant will assist us with wellbeing projects which support those most vulnerable and at risk due to social isolation and those shielding in their homes on medical advice.
