Level 2 Food Operator
This Apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the essential Knowledge and Skills for working in a modern day Food Manufacturing site. Through completing this year long programme you will learn essentials such as Food Safety and Environmental factors as well as learning some more complex skills such as Waste Reduction, Problem Solving and Production Processes.
The Food & Drink Manufacturing Sector is one of the most important and fast growing in the United Kingdom and as such this Apprenticeship represents the beginning of a career which can take you into a wide variety of directions.
Level 3 Food Operator
This Apprenticeship is designed to provide you with the essential Knowledge and Skills for working in a modern day Food Manufacturing site. Completion of this Apprenticeship will give you a deeper and broader skill set, covering a higher level understanding of Production and the Supply Chain, Internal and External Auditing, Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing and Food Science.
This Apprenticeship can lead on to careers in almost any area associated with Manufacturing.

We have a few requirements that we would like you to meet, these include:-
- You must be over 16 (no upper age limit)
- Be confident, positive, and willing to learn
- The ability to work as a team member and possess good communication skills
- Be enthusiastic and passionate about the food manufacturing sector
- You must be able to travel to the site location selected
For the Level 3 programme You will ideally already possess English and Maths qualifications equivalent to at least Grade 4 GCSE, although additional support can be given to anyone who has yet to achieve these.
Our Locations
We offer engineering apprenticeship opportunities across all of our sites & in our agriculture division.
Our GB apprentices will complete their training at Birmingham Metropolitan College on a block release basis across 3-4 years of study (all travel & accommodation costs are included as part of the training).
Our NI engineering apprentices will complete their study as a cohort on a day release basis one day a week.
Eligibility
On completing your apprenticeship in Food and Drink Engineering Maintenance at Moy Park, engineers will work to gain further ‘on the job’ experience. As a qualified Multi-skilled maintenance engineer, you will draw on the skills, knowledge and behaviours you have learnt during your apprenticeship programme to become a valued member of Moy Park’s maintenance infrastructure.
